Very nice sounding 340 ! Nothing wrong with the MP .484 cam if you plan to stay with it and you can run low 12's with the .484 cam. My sons very mild 383 with 3.91's ran 12.30's at 110 with the .484 cam and it was a very nice sounding and driving cam. Good luck with that nice 340. :) Ron

the car will run for a while with what it has, but at the end of the season, I'm gonna be looking into the new cam, and I want to go with the bigger one, as I'd like to make sure it sits right on that 11.8-12.2 area, naturally, 11s would be nicer to see...

One person I was talking to was speaking of the .508 cam, ported X heads (i have Xs on there), an M1 intake, 4.56 gear, and 4500 converter was running 11.3s in a 3100# car.

I'm not going crazy on the gear, but I'm going to get a 3000 converter and hope for 11.9s, but hopefully putting in 1.6 rockers will help out the lack of converter/gear.
