E-town Was The Pits

There's been much negative talk about this whole thing. Funny too, cause most of the people that do the negative talking are the same ones that will do anything other than show up and support the event. But hey, when it's finally canceled they'll have something else to ***** about.

Perhaps it should be condensed into a one-day affair, the Saturday program has always been somehwat unnecessary due to the noise ordinance - un-muffled cars on Sunday only. A few years ago though, when the swap meet was in full swing, you could go for the whole weekend - get yer parts on Sat., then come back for the racing on Sunday and not feel like you missed anything.

IMO, the 'show cars' are not the main focus of the event because it's held at a 'race track'. Perhaps if the 'show car' owners ran their cars down the track instead of pulling them into a parking spot, sitting behind them all day in a lawn chair then pulling them out of the parking spot to go home to put said 'show car' back in the garage, it might be more interesting for everyone.

And in regards to the vendors, since the rise of the 24/7/365 virtual swap meet known as the internet, the original swap meets we all know and love have probably gone the way of $2.00 gas.
