Torq converters

I know the engine in my '65 is a '67 273, not sure about the tranny. Does it matter what year the torque converter is to fit into this tranny?

yes it matters. they changed spline counts in the late 60's i think it was.

on the 727 the sline count changed for 67-up so i imagine the 904 happened somewhere near that too.
