The NY times recomended the A body. Although I dont remember the Valiant as being "tough as nails".

HEMI PRETENDER - With prices of Chrysler muscle cars in the stratosphere, a Hemi 'Cuda will cost as much as your house - even if it is a very nice house. But among the worthy Chrysler-built cars of the era is the Plymouth Duster, a coupe introduced in 1970 that was a close relative of the tough-as-nails Valiant. Even with the desirable 340-cubic-inch V-8 engine, this junior league muscle car can be purchased for $12,000.

That's the understatement of the year...LOL!! Maybe a house in SoCal!!

New homes around here are about $500,000 I think you may be able to get a Hard top Hemi cuda for that price.

The damn wannabee's will see that and there will be a run on our cars. Maybe they will become unaffordable like the rest of them. Best part is, we already own them.

i still want another one before the craze hits but i have no money or storage :bs:

The prices that I have seen lately, the A-Bodies are continuing to go up. I think for that $12,500.00 you are getting one with an older resto, or a non matching number car.

I got mine for $1000..:-$

OK..so what if the engine was out of it (and part of the interior). At least all the machine work was completed, and I got a boat load of NIB parts for it. Also the almost total lack of rust is a plus.:thumblef:

and to think the previous owner rescued it from a junkyard (and gave it to his daughter to drive in high school).

Probably, in a handful of years all of our Mopars will be nothing more,
than bought and sold cars at the big house auctions. It kind of sucks that
some of these cars never show never get driven, and get shuffled around
from owner to owner as a .....investment? I don't think there is one person
on our board that bought his or hers Mopar for an investment. Some of these
owners that buy the hi-dollar cars don't even see them. A year later there
on the auction block again. I was offered 9 grand for my 70 Duster and
I turned it down, I sure could use the scoots, but I would never find another
one again in the shape I found mine in. I'll keep my orange Dust till the end,
When I'm in 80's and a I can't drive a stick any more, I'll trade it for an
automatic. Another thing did any one see American Muscle car last
nite it was on the Duster.... it was cool.

don't take them too personally. If I did, my car would be a general lee and i'de be a red neck ;)

i've said it before and i'll say it again i won't sell my car unless someone offered me a real stupid amount of money say 15-20 grand
