Where can I get a Hydraulic clutch for 383 dart
first of all im pretty sure you misunderstood chuck,,but unless he misunderestood your question,,, you can not attach the push rod of the master at the pivot point of the pedal,,there is a ratio that has to be met so you have enough push or efforrt,, on the master ,,if you attach it at the pedal pivot the master will not move much if at all,, i dont have to formula handy at the monment,,but to come up wit hthe correct mounting position on the pedal, you measure the length or the pedal,,and divide by the ratio that should be supplied by the master cylinder instructions,, my master is attached on the clutch pedal,,2 inches down from the pivot of the pedal,,the pivot is where the pedal swings from,,so look up at you pedal,,see the big welded spot where the rod goes thru the brake pedal and in to the bracket that holds the pedal assembly,,
the easiest way to do it is to mount the master where the speedometer cable goes in to the fire wall,, that is the perfect location,,it wil put your master cylinder push rod in the correct location,,as far as pivot ratio,,
you wil have to fab up a bracket to bring the mounting out to the laster push rod,,but that is easy,,, inorder to use the speed ometer cable hole, you wil have to open the hole up so the master fits the hole,, you choose how to do that. i used a tool called a green tool, electricians use them to open up holes in electrical boxes,, the hole i needed and will probably be the same for you is 1 3/8,,then file it smoth so you dotn tear the boot on the back of the master,,,i highly suggest you make a reinforcement plate on the inside of the fire wall or the fire wall will crack ,, mine did,, thing to remember you want the master cylinder push rod to go straight ,, not on an angle,, i am going to take a few pics of my pedal from in side,, to give you an idea of how simple that part is,,and an idea of what you need to do,,e mail me if you have any questions, i too am tossing around the idea of chucks kit,,,
