It.......
The Saga continues.
Today I made the 13 MILE trip in to town to pick up a couple O parts I ordered for...."IT" They....the blunderheads at AutoZoned out called me and said they were here. Well they were HALF right. HALF of the parts I ordered had come in. So (assuming they call) I'll get to make another 26 MILE round trip tomorrow to get the rest of the parts.
On to more odd things.
I pulled one of the front wheels just a few minutes ago. Has Wilwood brakes on it, but the lugs were in the small pattern instead of the large. WTF? I know they (Wilwood) makes these in both a 4 and a 4.5" pattern, but this ain't right. So I measure it, and it isn't 5 on 4. It doesn't measure to 4.5 either. Guess I never realized the 4.5" actually measured out to about 4 3/8"
So I pulled the right rear. It looked like (from the outside) there were adapters back there fir the 4.5". But there isn't an adapter. But it's a 4.5 pattern. And the drums aren't redrilled. And the axle isn't redrilled. But it's a 5X4.5" for sure. So I tried to measure the housing. Looks to be 52-53". Problem is this could either be an A body, or an early B body (read 63-64 Maxi) which are only about 3/4" difference in width.
So before measuring, I figured it would be a 65-67 B body housing, since the wheels are a 7" with 3.75 backspacing, but seem to stick out necessitating the air shocks. The left rear is still on the car, and there is 2" clearance between the tire and the spring.
