It takes work to keep a 35 year old car a dependable driver. You have to expect that everything is shot. You could always find a cheap 10 year old beater and drive that while getting your Dart Road worthy. When you feel coinfident in your Dart, sell the beater, and you really didn't lose any money. If you sell it, you'll probably regret it.
