Question regarding torque converter

It will be mostly street but I do want to run it out at the local track now and again so I am tryin to make it fairly stout. The manifold and carb and headers made my 318 really scream from 3000 rpm up so I assume to make use of the 360 with same set-up should require a stall that is around 3000 rpm. The slant six auto that I got the stall from is the one that was in the 73 originaly. And as I said, I have the B & M flexplate for an extrenally balanced 360 so I am not concerned with finding a converter with weights nor adding any. I just was interested to know if the converters are all the same for the most part and will survive behind a mild 360. So it is the measured diameter of the converter that belays it's size?
