Hello new here first post

hello, thanks for the warm welcome. the 64 is coming down from wisconsin. the guy is bringing it down the last weekend of this month (30th?). i have the title, and according to a vin decoder it does read out as a gt. the first three numbers in the vin are 744. i know everyone is selling "a california car", but this one still has the old cali plates on the pumpers. its 99.8 rust free, and from the pics the owner has sent i believe him. the guy im buying it from runs a shop up in wisconsin and needs space in his shop. he had it primed and actually painted the engine bay (with a color he decide he didnt like). i really was looking for a car with as little rust as possible so i bought the car for $1500. it has the 225 with the super six set up, but im thinking of going with a v8. the 225 is a smooth cruzer, but i like to...drive fast, and i love the throaty rumble of a v8.
my dream is to modernize it and put a 5.7 hemi in the car with all the fuel injection goodies. i know, everyones rolling there eyes right about now, but this dream is possible. you can pick up a 5.7 off ebay for around 2-3 grand with low miles. guys are putting the new hemi in hot rods and old muscle cars right now. i just need the instruction manual on how to install it all. ha ha.
i wont be ready for any drivetrain items until 3 or more years down the road anyway, so that gives after market compnaies time to come up with the hardware to make an engine transplant like the one i want easier.
my project isnt even in my garage and ive already mentally spent 10 grand. O:)
