I just found out my insurance company has been charing me $200 a month more then I need to be paying. I did a online quote for 3 companies including my currant company. They all came up with about the same price. $860 for 6 months or $140 a month. So why are they charging me $2000 for 6 months or $330 a month ?

We have no tickets or accidents and they always seem to charge me more then everyone else. I hate insurance companies.

I wish I could just cancel it al together like I did with the cable company and there $120 a month.

Call up your agent and ask him whats up with the rate difference??? I bet he will have some excuse!

Two years ago my wife and I switched insurance co's and are now saving 2000 per year. The refund from when we cancelled paid for the year at the new place. The old co raised us 2200 per year for no reason.

Sometimes you got to shop around.

Gee I would shop around! I pay $1900 total/yr for full coverage on two cars and min coverage on the third.

Yes - even if your happy with your company, you have to shop around every year or so.

Also, ask questions and check different levels of rates. With one company, I found my comp & collision costs dropped if I increased my liability limits.

I like insurance... I hate premiums. I really hate money grubbing insurance companies.

Did you realize that most insurance companies also use your credit rating to determine your premium. If they pull a credit report and realize that your rating took a dive, it is likely your premiums will take a hike!

AIG is famous for this.

That sounds very expensive...

I live in one of the most expensive places in the US. I've got full coverage on 2 vehicles, one is which is 4WD (always more money).

I pay $1826 yearly.

Check out Geico!

Gieco quoted me $140 a month as did Progressive who is currantly raping me for $336 a month.

dont know if you have any insurances för "classic" cars in US but here we can get very sheap insurance on old "hobby cars" but those incurance companys does not like to see a car they incure on picture in a magazine doing a coverage from some night time action on the street...

Yes, you can get insurance for classic cars, well at least in Mass. It's quite cheap, like $300/yr but there are many restrictions on it for that rate. If you want to use your classic as basically a daily driver with no restrictions the price goes up to close to what regualr insurance costs. My Barracuda insurance is approx $450/yr with the only restriction being no more than 7500 miles per year of driving.

My Barracuda is on a seperate policy. I pay another $100 a month for it. After I get our regular policy lowered I'm going to insure the Barracuda threw hagerty for $200 a year with a value $10,000 for the car.

And I thought my insurance was high at $1400 ayear for all 3 full coverage on the 2 trucks and wifes mini van.

them are some really high$$$$.

Adam thats who I got all my cars with haggerty and no problems at all infact when I gave my youngest son my 72 cuda they had called him and said it was under-insured and suggested he put at least $25,000 on it so i told him go for it as its cheaper then taking a loss.

I'm with Geico also. We pay about $2,300 a year for our 2 old Nissans and full coverage for the GTI. The Barracuda costs another $110 through Hagarty. The one thing in our favor is that I walk 4 blocks to work and my wife takes the train to work. And the train station is across the street from our current Co-Op. Plus we only put about 5,000 miles a year on our cars. It all adds up to our great rates. Plus we have no moving violations.

Shop around Adam....:study:

Called Hagerty for a quote on ins. for the Dart, it was over $500 for $35000. Called Grundy and they cut it in half for the same amount.

Did you serve in the Military, If yah did, Call USAA..Half the price what your paying.

Well the low $150 quote everyone gave me was for basic liabily wich I cant get because the cars are payed for yet. I did get the payments down to $230 a month.

I'm also switching the Barracuda to Hagarty. $289 a year for $10,000 agreed value. Much better then $100 a month.

Adam and anyone else interested; I have American Collectors Insurance out of New Jersey for my Duster. They have it valued at $17K and I have Full coverage, ie; Full Tort $100K Liab., $0 Deductable Comp., $100 Ded. Collision, Towing, $500 spare parts and theft and I pay $116.00 a year. The only restriction is mileage, the car cant be used as a daily driver and is limited to 2,500 miles a year but for an additional $20 a year you can increase to 5,000 miles a year. Im not trying to sell anyone but Im quite pleased. Their # is 1-800-360-2277. As for regular car insurance I have 2 ea. 2005 Chev. Equinox's (please no slams, couldn't pass up the employee pricing they ran in July) and I pay $1,586 a year for both. Just some info for you folks..Don.. :thumrigh: PS. Besides Geico, another one to look at is Progressive, I have my 21 yr. old with them and they had the best price....
