Intake & Carb question

The intake, is an older design Edelbrock that was ment for light competition. IF your going to use it, it works best with a high gear ratio and stall converter and large-ish street cam. I would use it with a cam of 240* duration @ 050 at a min. and a converter of 3500 min and 4.30 gears.

Otherwise, a RPM would be much better to use.

The carb is a small CFM and is best sutied on a 340 if it is gong to be a daily driver. A serious go around town car. It's not a proper match for that intake and even more so on a 340. Though that doesn't me it can not be made to function. It's just out of balance.
