Intake & Carb question
Hum, OK. My 318 in a '74 Duster is a high 14 car once I tune it up better. I ran a 15.14 with the carb untuned and the distibutor just simply dropped in.
It has the same carb you have, Edelbrock LD4B, the "318" intake before the Performer, headers and 2-1/2 true dual exhaust and a small Crane cam. @ .050, 216/228 - .454/.480 on a 112.
A 904 trans, stock and 3.21 rear gears on a stock tire.
You can get low 14's with the slightly larger cam ( 230 @ .050 ) and better compresion than a stock '78, 318 has. For the heads, leave the 360 heads alone. You'd probably like preped 318 heads better, but the stock 360 heads should do fine.
Being the gear ratio is numericaly low, a MSD would be very good for low end power and mileage.
