It's funny how things change. I remember in the 70's, no one wanted those cars. They were considered "goofy". There was a daily driver near my house, all beat up. The owner probably cursed it's length when trying to park it!
I read that some wing cars had the nose and wings removed by the dealerships because they could not sell them, then sold them as regular Road Runners- and they ended up looking like this:
