I think my 30-year old starter relay is finally dying...

1 - Where can I get a replacement?
2 - Are they all the same, or are there different relays for different years & models?

year one says 66-74 the same. I got mine at local parts store.

Do you remember what it cost?

Does anybody make a "heavy duty" relay or am I stuck with the stock one?

I want one that's gonna last 50 years! :colors:

I'll find to locate a Napa on my way home from work, I just called AutoZone and they don't carry them. And I'm sure Auto Barn (the closest auto parts place to my house) wouldn't have it.

Find the napa and call there before you leave work and maybe they will have it in the store by the time you get there. If they don't have it they will get it!

I went through Year-one, AutoZone did not stock it. Price was $15.00.

Mikel did you get one.
I had a prob thought it was relay turned out to be loose safety n switch.

I'll pick it up at Napa on my way home from work this afternoon. I stopped there yesterday, they had to order it. $13.

Your switch was loose or the wiring?

Actually it was the wiring at the s/n switch itself.

Well, I got the new relay, installed it, turned on the master switch on the back of the car and looked up just in time to see sparks shooting out of the new relay.

I guess I'm going back to Napa in the morning. ;-)
