cam question

I am guessing that if it is a stock compression, stock head 318, it would need a warm cam of the specs Rumblefish displayed to run a high 14 or low 15s. A better converter and gears of 3.21 or numerically higher should seal the deal, possibly even a bit better. I run consistant low 15s with a stock converter in a similar combo 318, with a XE268 cam. The converter is definately the ball in my chain right now. It is a stock 1400 rpm unit. I plan to up to 2300-2500 and it should wake it up even further. 18-19 mpg on the hwy out of this.

I am guessing he has open chamber 318 heads.
