A real survivor

Old cars are neat. They put things into perspective. I'm 49, when I was about 21 (in 1980), my buddy let me drive his '35 Ford. It was an unrestored original that his father bought used in '37. It was the family car til '54 when he bought a '54 Chevy.
It wasn't tagged, he used to bring it out every few years and change the oil, then just run it around the block. Flathead V8, 3spd on the floor, mechanical brakes. Driving it was like driving an old truck, in my then 21 year old mind. It made me realize how far car design had come.
Then there was the '50 Buick an old boss of mine had. Ever feel how smooth a straight 8 is? .....
