My brother and I, bought a small 2 bay gas station in Kennedy,
Minnesota, I am going to leave San Diego, Calif. and just do what
I want to do. I can never open up nothing in Southern Calif.
it's next to impossible,we all can not be a chopper builder. So, I guess I need to buy winter clothes again. I don't care I have a lot of connections out here, I can get rust free parts. Just a full service
gas station, I'm going to do "Oil Changes", tire repair, ..headlights,
and windshield wipers. No tune-ups , brakes, or cooling systems.
Not that I can't do that kind of stuff, but it's going to be me by myself. Screw
all the domestic work, that's enough for 1 guy. There is also
a Dyno-Shop a MILE away.
Now, thats what I'm talking about !!!
...............a DYNO-- shop.. maybe... a couple years...

Wow.... going from San Diego to Minnesota is a HUGE lifestyle change! Good luck with the station. Just make sure you keep the snow shovel handy from Oct. to April.....:p

Congrats! I know how I felt when I bought my first restaurant - Its alot of work, but its a feeling thats unmatchable. Congrats!

Free gas for FABO members?

It felt like I bought a gas station this weekend......they had to run my credit card 3 times to fill the Motorhome.......auto stop at $75.00 is about worthless....

Thanks a lot everyone!! I'm going to fly out there this month to check
everything over. Yeah, its going to be a big change with the weather
and all, but I grew up on the south side of Chicago, so I'm still kind of used
to the crappy weather. I don't mind snow, but the extreme cold I don't
care for, but take the good with bad. I still have frostbitten fingers
and some toes, I hope I don't put myself into shock. Frostbite....got
that after the Bears won the Super Bowl, what century was that??

Good luck in Minnesota....

Hey, I know what you mean. I lived in Socal for about 10 years....it's a rat race down there.

The only thing that I like was that I had all these race tracks close by.

Pomona, Fontana, Irwindale...

Any tracks close to your new location?

a track called Rocket Speedway, is in the town next over in Hallock.
I'm hoping to be out there in the next 2 monthes, my dad just got
sick and I am not going to leave till I know he's better. He has not
been in the Hospital, since 1966. I'm praying he'll be alright soon.

My condolences on your purchase. With prices what they are today, I dont think gas stations are going to be very necessary for long.

I spoke with my lawyer yestersday, I will know in a couple weeks if
I will be able to sell gas , there are not a lot of stations around, so
I hope it works out. If I can't sell gas then I will do more domestic,
repair. Hopefully, this gas thing will end in the next few monthes, as
for snow vehicles, I used to have a snow-plowing business when I
lived in Chicago for about 7 years. I used to do a few hotels downtown,
including the one I was working for. As for a truck I have a '79
F-250 4x4 w/ a 429 out of a T-bird that I built 4 years ago. I think that
should be enough to get me through the white stuff. The only problem
not a lot of snow plow installers here in so. Calif. I'll have to wait till
I get it up there.
