Well, if you can't get the big one fixed, try rebuilding a smaller one!

This is the begining of a new project. I'm refinishing a Highway 61 `68 Barracuda to represent what mine will look like. I'm starting with the white Formula S version, which has the steel wheels and dog dish hub caps like my car. I'll strip it to bare metal, prime it, and shoot it with L1 turquoise. I also have a 340 6 Bbl. to stuff in it thanks to Gregs340! This might help keep me grounded while I wait for my crank to return from the machine shop.

This thing comes apart almost exactly like the real thing. Every piece of trim is either chromed plastic, or photo-etched metal. I removed all the trim and have it stored.

These die casts are well made with sturdy construction. Nothing at all was flimsy or cheesey....And the paint is almost flawless. It's a shame to strip it off.....

What I would give to have a garage full of 1:1 fenders like this.... I could retire early. I'll post more pictures as work progresses. Watch this thread from time to time!

Just dont use a Mopar Perf. short block in it. :angel9:

Knowing your handy work and great detail I'm sure its going to look awsome when its done.

This might actually happen fast.... Today I chemically stripped the paint and smoothed out some rough spots. Hopefully I'll have it in primer tomorrow and color by Thursday.

This is gonna be soooo kewl ! 8)

Lookin good. Wish i could find a dicast of a 65 so i could do the same.

Go grab a Hurst Hemi under Glass and swap the chassis from a `68 underneath it. That's about the closest your gonna get.

And with the left overs do a `68 Hemi under Glass ;)

I bought "Highway 61's" new Swinger model. It is copper like mine, but with a vinyl roof. Maybe I'll try what your doing.
