The trans will hold up for about a year, maybe. The converter is ok, but the trans simply doesn't have the guts to do what you want. I know this, because I did the same thing. The shift kit will keep it alive for a while. After that, it'll start to find the weak link, over and over again. The rear clutch, which is the main clutch for all forward speeds, will eventually die and you'll have to rebuild the trans.

You may want to replace the converter with one that is specifically built to spec. The stock converter will work, but may not give optimum perfrmance.
