1969 dodge dart gts 440

Any suggestions as to a good aftermarket a/c system similar to the factory unit that ws an option for the dart?

I've got Classic Auto Air in my Duster. Everything fits like its supposed to. Take the old heater box out and the the new one fits right in. You have to change the glove box insert. Bracket is supplied for mounting the Sanden compressor. You use the factory holes in radiator support, so there is no hacking up the engine compartment.

I've got a 440 stuffed in my egine bay. Think there wold be a problem?

What was the total cost and how hard was the install?

Classic Auto Air costs $1100. I did mine in the restoration process and it was n't much more work than than reinstalling all the original pieces. I think it will work fine with the 440. You even use the factory heater controls.

That's probably the way I'll go. WIll do it in the springtime.

BTW your Duster is reallllllllly nice!

I had a 72 Demon 340 which I loved. Back then we never ordered the cars with factory a/c because of the weight and power loss.

With a black interior it got pretty hot in the summers.

Bouchillon Performance has all the fittings, and set up also. I am going to use them in my 72 Swinger. Mine already has the factory A/C so I just need the upgrades under the hood. Looks like nice stuff from them. And they use the newer Sanden compressor too. Check out the web site.

John at USCarToolells the classic air ones and installs them as well. he is easy to deal with and knows what he is doing, I would call him since he will give you personal service with ethe order as well as tech if something goes wrong with the install. Nice to have someone to call in a pinch if somethiong does not go 100% right with the install
