30 years between runs

Hi guys I have been following that post for a few days the car lead69 talked about is mine the fact are it ran pure stock B/S in 1972 won stock elm at matal hot wheel race motor never been apart stock tires cut head pipes and well tuned 13.20 et and 99.4 mph did the head to factory spec. and advanced the cam 4deg. went to 4.10 gears and 10' dot tires went 12.53 best an 1973 winter nat'l won went thru post race tech and pasted the nat'l record at that time was 12.86. we replaced the cam with a leagal cheater cam went to 4.89 gears and 1 7/8 headers the wt was 3212# car ran 12.0 with a best of 11.88 in div 6 NHRA it was a pure stock car of the day now this did not happen by just taking a street car or daily driver to the track it was a lot of work we ran with in the rules of NHRA and pasted tech every time a 10 sec street mach hell no fast for it day you bet

FAST Car at any View for early 70's...These Guys are Saying These STREET Cars Today are PURE STREET.....BUT Have BIG STROKERS..Coil-Overs,Back-Halfed,14 Inch Tires That SAY on the Side-Wall 10,NOS,2800# and LESS,Fiberglass Everything,Dominators,ALUMINUM Heads,Aluminum Radiators,etc.....
My 340 RUN In PURE Stock with the ONLY Exception was I had to change the Tires And Headers For Manifolds...
