440 vs 383

i have a 8 3/4 rear that i wanna do 410 or 456 gears and a 833 4spd trans 26 spline ... im not plan'n on spending more then like around 2,000$ on the motor seeing that im 18 and working and school while i do this build ... these are my parts that i wanna get

With the list above you've already spent half your budget,you'll still need carb, intake,headers,ignition,gaskets ect...unless you already have them...as for which to use i'd go with the 440 over the 383..as the big block guys like to say "theres no replacement for displacement":-D
