Well guys, looks like that crooked body shop I had my car at eon's ago did, in fact, steal my steel upper door panels from my front doors.

I could have sworn I had them on my car at their shop but they insisted I never did.
They also had 2 other 67 cuda's there at the time and one belonged to some important guy and his car was missing all sorts of interior pieces so I was told by one of the techs that was complaining about how they wanted him to work miracles on that car.
I think they are on his car now.

I just searched my entire garage the other day to no avail, they are gone.

They are the steel upper portions of the door above the door panel.

The car is a 67 notchback, and I don't care what color you have as I am going to paint them black regardless.

If you have them maybe I can make a trade for some A-body sport mirrors.

Those are part of the door............

All a 67 has is a chrome strip (well, probably stainless) the the upper part of the door panel slides into (a retainer of sorts).

yup, part of the door. just like most, or all of the 67-72 A bodies.

All 67-69 Barracuda's had the polished stainless panel retainer that the top of the panel fit up into.

Okay, so I may have had a large brain fart mixed with a little paranoia from dealing with that body shop nightmare as they did end up with my lower valance panel that they swore they never took.
So I traded my original hood for another one.

So my question is why do my rear quarters have them on the inside, but my front door does not?

I guess a rubber seal covers up the gap, that makes sense, but I need to see a pic of another notch in this area or go look at my car again to convince myself that my brain does not work well after midnite in the garage.

Sorry for my brain fart, it has been a long time since I ripped off all the parts and put them on the shelf.......Doh!.........thanks for straightening me out on this guys.

The piece on the rear quarter is a seperate piece. Its added on to simulate a door and/or match the contour of the door. A 4 door A-body wouldn't need such a piece. Hope that make sense.

Makes sense.

I think what made me think all this is because that rear panel sticks out further than the contour of the front door, and I for some reason was thinking those two pieces should line up and the lines flow together, but being a two door, I should have known better.

Gosh, it seems forever ago when I tore this car apart, but I'm glad I'm on the opposite and of the spectrum now.

If the rear piece is properly installed and the door is completely closed the 2 will line up pretty even

That's why I'm afraid to take my Dart apart. I'll never get it back together.
I'm short on memory but even shorter on time to work on it. LOL. toolman

Dont be afraid, but do take a bazillion pictures with a digital camera!
I like to "document" every car I've taken apart since I got my first decent digital camera. The beauty of digital is you can take as many pictures as you need for one low price :-D

No , I was thinking I need upper ,etal door panel finishers like on the quarters inside by the glass but they never came on the car.

I got nervous cause I thought that crooked body shop snaked them like they did my lower valance panel, but they never were on my car from the factory.

I will let you guys know if I need those spears.

No Problem, for reference the outside door and quarter trim is called belt mouldings.
