Smaller Exhaust?

Mount the glasspacks as far forward as possible, and run 2 1/2" behind the axles if you want to have a lot of crack in the pipes. The crack sound comes from constructive interference of the sound waves and is a function of the resonant air column in the pipe and NOT backpressure.

Backpressure is NEVER good.

I agree C130. The 2 1/2 muffler shop restrictive bend exhaust on my Ramcharger cracked so bad it drove me nuts. I added 16" long 3 1/2" dia tips to take the majority of the crack out on the advice of another member. It worked pretty well, but I'm wishing I would have gone with a 3" exhaust on this truck.
