Crankshaft Mopar Performance 0.040 in

The oil pump failed? Or just doesn't pump enuff oil?

The oiling system on a small block engine is ok until approx. 6,000 rpm's and not much more at all. 7,000 is to many rpm's unless you have made modifications to the oil system.

Also, most engines will make peak power way below this rpm.

On the crank. Was the crank cut down .040?
Or was it the rods were cut down .040 on there big end?

I know the crank can be cut that much without problems. I don't know about the rods though. I never had the rods cut down so much before. I do not see a problem, but like I said, I just don't know.
