Fun day at the track.

My boys and I along with some friends all went to a T & T yesterday. We had a good time but we were all off about 2 mph. Bummer as Ron Jr in the Dart hit a new best 60 ft of 1.61. The old best was 1.66. We finally tried the 9 x 28 slicks. But the mph was only 114 all day down from the usual 116. The car ran 11.70's all day with a best of 11.71 @ 114 and a 1.61 best 60 ft. We aren't to upset as like I said everyone's mph seemed to be off. And nothing broke as we were able to drive the 35 miles home. We also took my youngest sons new SRT-4 that is still all stock and ran 14.02 @ 103 on stock tires. Now we plan to get woking on it to get it in the 12's. Ron

You lucky guys, October and still going to the track? Nice! It has got real cool and miserable here in the last couple of weeks, had a frost on the windows last week. The track is still officially open until the end of October , BUT, the weathor is not co-operating. The insurance will be off mine this week, and it will be sitting in the corner for the next 6 months. I will be working on the NEW 400 during the winter though, although with no heat in the garage that will become a tad difficult too when it gets below freezing! Hey Fastback I will be working on my 63 all winter in the garage and when it gets below 40 I turn on my torpedo heater to warm it up. Its not the greatest as its noisey but it puts out some nice heat and warms it up fast.
There was a boatload of 5.0 Supercharged Stangs there yestereday and Ron Jr raced 3 of them He beat 2 of them that ran low 12's and the last one just did get him in the lights as he put a nice holeshot on him and ran a 1.61 60 to his 1.62 60 and Jr went 11.72 as the Stang came by on the top end and ran 11.55. His best race was with a new supercharged Mercedes that the anoucer was talking up on how good it ran. Jr put a lite on him also and the stock looking Mercedes ran 12.42 @ 112 but he got smacked by Jrs 11.74 @ 114 ! It was a fun day. Ron
