Help! It won't move!!

I usually will spin the converter clockwise quite a few times over and every few spins i stop and rotate it counter clockwise about a quarter turn. i keep doing that until i can feel it slide back and you can feel a little resistance too from it engaging the pump. if i don't feel any resistance it comes right back off till i figure it out. but usually you would have issues trying to bolt the engine and trans. together. most shops and suppliers don't really seem to know the difference between the early 904's and the later ones unless they are getting more uncommon these days. hopefully you get it sorted out without too much more of a headache.
