1974 Plymouth Scamp
Hi Steve. My A-body daily driver of 16 years is starting to get pretty soft and its time for a new one. I've been looking for a 67-71 but we had a 74 scamp that my wife drove the poop out of for a few years,it was a good car and we liked it. I think I am serious about this car and have lot's of questions. How far from you is airport and could you pick-up? Is dash pad cracked? New steering is this pump and box, brand new or rebuilt? I noticed a dent in middle of front bumper,is the rest of the bumper straight accross front end? Do heat and defrost work? I see aftermarket gauges,do originals work? Gas gauge? Is tach still in car and hooked up? Any overheating problems? Just to clarify are front and rear wheel 4.5 big bolt pattern? Are bfg tires brand new with the 1500 miles on them? Do all windows go up and down properly? Are door strikers in door frame good, doors open and close well? Does it sound tuff and a little lumpy? My plan would be to drive it daily for this season and do a colour change over the winter. It sounds like you have adressed most of mechanical issues. Finances and wifes permission are no problem on my end.I am going to do my homework on currency exchange, travel costs, duties, tax's and best way to tag car for ride home. Who broke her in(1500 miles)you or your daughter? Thanks for your time. Greg
