Help with 727 trans 2 problems
Thanks to all that can help. I have two problems. First is a trans linkage issue. I have two A-body cars that used to be 6cyl. cars. The trans linkage pivot that bolts to the frame is my issue. No matter what I do the rod going across to trans is to long and will not sit level. It is preventing me from getting manual shift low one. Was the linkage different from a 904 to a 727? I dont know what was in it. Is there an aftermarket one? I have this same issue on my other car. If the pivots that mount to the frame are different between the transmissions, does someone have one?
Second issue is on the same car [75 Dodge Dart Sport] with the linkage issue I have installed a lockar throttle pressure cable. I cant seem to get it adjusted properly. I know I have to fix the linkage problem above but it will go into drive with no problem. If I mess with the throttle adjustment I get anything from slipping ,late and early shifts and no third. I am confused. I really want to fix both of my cars properly. Any help would be appreciated.
In summary The engine has been changed from a 6 to a 318. Trans is different and could have been originally a 904 and now has a 727. I have installed a stall convertor of 2600-2800. I dont know what a stall should feel like. I have never had one before. Also on occasion the trans will puke some fluid onto the floor after sitting for some time. It will be clean for a week and look again and there is a half a quart on the floor. The trans has been rebuilt by a trans shop and I can only assume it is right. I also shortened drive shaft to fit the 8 3/4 rear. Some times ther appears to be fluid drips around u-joint at back of trans. Sorry for the long post but the more info you have the better. I can provide any pics you need. Thank you. Tod
