Thanks for the information guys. His trans is iron I believe, I did not realize that there was not even a place for synchros in it, interesting. I remember a guy in our shop neigborhood that had a SB Duster that he ground like every other tooth off the synchros, used to hear him ram rod the thing on our proving grounds nearby late Friday and Saturday nights, just a memory I have from whwn I was little, thought I'd share it.

hey man, what everyone here is saying about slick shifted four speeds makes sense, but there is a guy over on big block dart building a 68 pro street dart with a 4 speed and v gate shifter and he is having is tranny slick shifted either by liberty or brewers (cant remember which one- if you check out his resto thread on BBD it says there his name is 68prostreet)) and they told him they way they are doing it for him will be fine for street/strip...dont know what the difference is between a regular slick shift or theirs, so maybe its worth a call to find out? just a suggestion if your pops really wants to do it
