Help with 727 trans 2 problems

i got a cable from year one i believe (lokkar??) for my 6 cyl to BB swap, it works good once its set... i had to do some modding to get it to work right on the carb, and find a way for it hook up to the kick down lever without jamming on the tunnel. and had to hook up springs on the lever for it to return all the way on its own, on top of that it took quite a while to get the adjustment just right. i also found that if the cable is tightened all the way for the full lever movement at wot my motor is reving up to about 6000-6500 before it shifts so i had to set it back a bit constantly testing it until i found a place on the cable where my is now shifting around 4800 first to second and 4500 second to third, the kick down lever isn't pulled all the way back but its close i believe under half an inch or around a quarter its not much....
hope there's something valuable in that, you have probably already figured out the majority of it..
