Snake! back yard.

Hey Mike,
I glanced though the first six pages of your thread.
Has the snake been positively identified? Looks too big to be a King Snake, or do they get that big in Arkansas?
I’ve actually stopped on the road to pick up a king snake and bring to my house to release it because of what people say about them eating other snakes.

(Funny story. My young son and I had been fishing. The snake was in the road and I picked it up and threw it in the bed of the pick up. So, we are driving down the road and the sucker starts coming in the cab through my window over my shoulder. By the time I got the truck stopped it was starting to crawl through the brake pedal hole into the engine compartment. I had to pull it back out and put it in an improvised bag.)

I understand about the cute flying squirrels. They aren’t common around here. I’ve only ever seen one year ago.
But I have declared “war” on bush tailed yard rats. They ate into my house a few years ago and since that time I shoot them if it can.
(Oh horrors a gun owner. It's a women's rights issue, you know.)
I’m not replacing any more siding.
They are trying to chew into my “barn” all the time.
Then again we don’t have skunks or ground hogs in this state either.
I did see a dead coyote couple of weeks ago in middle of the street not far from a busy mall. That was a first.
I saw on TV last week that they have bold coyotes in downtown LA. Some lady said she watch one run up to an old man and take his little dog in broad daylight, leash and all.
Just so the snake doesn’t eat Chihuahuas.
Didn’t they used to sell pets at Wal-Mart? Or am I thinking of some other store?
(Let’s have full disclosure. Who on this site works there?) Wink, as usual.

Hey, I just heard that song “Mid Life Chrysler” on Huckabee.
I think someone stole that from my son.
That what he said ten years ago when I came home with a Challenger.
I posted the phrase on this site in a thread and figure it has made it around the world by now.
Folks, it’s been fun but I’m in the middle of a kitchen remodel!
Later.
