1968 GTS Center Grill or Center Punch

The 68 grill center piece is a highly valued item. It was not offered in any of the sales brochures as an option, nor was it mentioned anywhere as part of the GTS (or any other trim level) package. As near as I can figure, the nose piece came on the GTS and disappeared right around a UAW strike against Mopar in December of 1967. After the strike was settled, no more nose piece. All of the GTS sent in buit after Dec. 67 did NOT have the original nose piece. This is according to the info sent in to the GTS Registry. There has been no concrete evidence of the purpose/reason of the nose piece that I have seen in over ten years of doing the Registry. I wish I could find some documentation on it one of these days.
A real nose piece trades for around $600. Tony DiAgostino was repopping them made of plastic for around $400 a few year's ago.
