Dots at 6 and 12 but rotor not in right place.

That works fine if you are working on a Blowtie. Mopars need the crank dot at 12 and the cam dot at 12 just like redfastback said.

'Zactly!! You can install the cam with the dots at 6 and 12 to make life easier on yourself, but the distributor is installed with the dots at 12 and 12.
