Dots at 6 and 12 but rotor not in right place.

Ok letsssss see if I am on the right track.When I install the new cam the crank dot at 12 and the cam dot at 6.Spinn over one more turn so the dots are 12 and 12, balancer should be at 0 on the timing tab #1 piston at TDC then drop my dist gear so it points at # 1 thats it, am I right.Ps I do not have the knowledge or have a degree wheel.So it will be installed stright up.
