New Challenger concept

ok, at first i really dug the new challey, but after reading the desingers comments i started shying away from it. he talks as if the "tucked under wheels and long overhang" was something that was wrong with the old challenger. the only thing wrong with the old challey was it was a little heavier then the camero and mustang for Trans Am racing. he goes on to say "we fixed this" meaning the tucked under wheels and long over hangs. what needed to be fixed is the challeys weight. this new challeys heavier, taller, and wider then the old challenger. worse off, hot rod magazine estimates a v6 car to be around 24k, which means a 5.7 hemi will be close to 30k. the 5.7 in the new challenger will only get 14s in the 1/4, itll need the 6.1 to get it into the 13s (to run with the rustang) and you can bet the 6.1 will be more like 35k. way to much money so you can run with a 25k mustang. and to run with the gt500 rustang, youd need a 6.4 hemi which im sure would be close to 40k. this new challenger needs a diet big time. it does look nice, but for 25k the rustang is the best bang for the buck. now, if they can get the 5.7 into a 26-27k challenger, thatd be tons better, even though the rustang would beat you in the 1/4. then for 32k the 6.1 hemi. but i dont think thats gonna happen. yes getting the new challenger would be cheaper than getting an orginal 70s model, but shes gonna need a diet to run with the new rustang, which is a shame. again, the new challenger looks good, but i can see the motor trend run down now "mustang, best bang for the buck". i just hope they can make this car smaller.
