I am painting mine Orange! This week/end... Will post pics obviously ;)

I could not stand re-painting my 273 4brl Red in a faded Turquoise 67 Dart GT.
Will re-do the Medium Turquiose when I paint the car. I like that color. It is totally rare too, I hardly ever see others Mopars in Miami style Hue. I will need more Hawaiian Shirts!! Maybe a pink Flamingo will make an appearance on the CB antenna every once in a while. Now just is I could find some Jimmy Buffet 8 Tracks!!! I might have to get a dang 8track recorder.. (Ha I am kinda stoned)

I voted Orange!!! I think it just makes the engine POP just perfect... not too dark like the black and red and not bland like the blue... I say ORANGE!!!!

If the original color is Red, paint it red...if that's what you want to do.
But in my mind, any performance oriented Chrysler engine HAS to be Hemi orange

I agree with most folks here. If its a restoration, then the correct color is red. If not, then the correct color is whatever you want!

I went with street hemi orange and originally had stock, non- Formula S valvecovers re done with black wrinkle finish. I later found a pair of MT valve covers and painted them engine color and cleaned the fins. I always liked that look. The air cleaner I made by cutting the top and base down on a stock 4 bbl air cleaner.

rogerk thanks for the pic :)

i was just looking at this thread and noticed how lame my blue engine would look in my petty blue car. no pop. so with some photoshop...

looks better in orange! now to repaint...

I know, the stainless sleeving is a little much, but I have always wanted that look. Not bad on the photoshop.

well i had the braided line when i first rebuilt my engine but man they look nasty after a while (daily driver) and i didn't want to spend the time cleaning them or the intake so now im going with rubber and no raw alum. i guess i would rather drive it then clean it lol. :-D

Red is nice.....my old 273 was red, but I am a big fan of that turquoise 340 color too.....looks different and kinda classy to me. I could only do orange if it was a big block.
