Stumble stumble...

Yeah, the other guys covered it well and my input would be in line with their comments. If you got alot of red/brown crap out of the fuel filter your concerns should be more in checking out the tank and line along with and not noted is the pump itself. If this crud gets to the pump it will stop it from working right. As a point of interest I have a nice 70 Swinger with a six in it. Long story short at the start of the season the car would not run. I had a bunch of that crud come out of the filter. The line and pickup were clear (but old) and there was no sock on the pickup to clog. I just put all new stuff on the car, tank, pickup, line, pump, and filter and it all went away. You should have seen what was in the tank! Just get the parts and replace. Much easier than banging your head with the stumble, hard to start, and slow acceleration issues.
