Does anyone besides Hooker make headers for a Duster with the 440 eng.and stock front end? TTI says their's won't fit a RB. Engine has 440-1 heads.

I beleive Schumacher does, not 100% sure tho. You could try to find an old set of Chrysler Power headers but good luck with that

I just had this conversation with Ken Lazzeri from Indy cylinder head. I was told any headers for the -1 heads in an A-body are custom,no production headers available. Indy EZ's,SR's, Edelbrocks and others have headers available but not for the -1's.

are you sure about that?

I think Ken is wrong on that. -1's have the std 440 bolt pattern correct?

Hedman makes a header for -1 heads in an A body. #75161

The TTI 2" do fit a stock front end 72 Duster.
Very tight fit though.
The drivers side captures the starter, easiest to remove the steering column and manual box.
Will not fit with the power steering column the manual box adapter.

Pro-Parts 2 inch here, required some cutting of fenderwells but not as much as fenderwell headers. They don't capture starter, allow lock to lock steering, nice but not cheap, I think they are about $850 uncoated. I was lucky enough to find a set on ebay for $450.

Keep in mind that all the above are probably referencing Mopars with automatic transmission builds.........not standards. I have all three types that were mentioned. Hookers are worst for looks on an A body, but probably the most effective for racing. ProParts are on my street car, and seem to flow well and dissipate heat well enough, but they set a little low overall. But I really like them anyways. Schumachers fit pretty good but the pipes are pretty small, and removingthe steering column for the install gets old in a hurry. I also have a set of TTI's in a 4 speed Dart and they were the god awfulest things to install, but they were the only ones that would work in that combo (plus I had to buy a RobbMcc starter - nothing else would work.

K,thanks for clearing that up,lol!

This is the first I've heard of them. Any idea on fitment, quality, ease of install,(ha,ya right) finish choices etc?

Do they capture the starter?

Hows the installation?

I do know they are slip tube and under chassis, which sounds good to me.

I like that the primaries are 2" for a low deck application

I'm in the process of installing a set of Maddogs now. I like them. Replacements for Proparts........ which are for sale now.

If anyone wants pictuures send me your email address to tbennett1@neo.rr.com

If you have them on your computer now, just click the "Go Advanced" button when you reply to a thread and theres a "Manage attachments" button that you can add a picture to from your computer. There is a size limitation and I use microsofts picture manager to resize them down.

These seem like great headers for the price. Underchassis and 2" tubes are the answere to my prayers!

How much clearance do the BH have near the driver side oil pan.I have a deep sump with external oil line wonder it they would hit it.
