oil pan interchange

The bottom of the pickup was rusted through with small pinholes. side by side they are different, the '64 sits closer towards the rear of the sump, the '68 sits in the center...(see pics)

They both had about 1/4" clearance from the bottom.
I called Melling's tech line again and they found a tsb from when they cancelled the early pickup. It superseded the early number to the later one. The only problem I can see is in some EXTREME acceleration, you'd want it farther back.
