63 Dart speedo cable

My Dart has a later model 904 so the original speedo cable wouldn't work. Finally got around to tackling the problem yesterday. Thought I'd just change the tranny end for the later set up. Pulled the cable out of the car so I could braze on the new end. Discovered the cable housing was all busted up. Oh drat, now what. Hmmm, maybe there's something here that has a cable with a good housing. Looked over my stockpile of what some would call junkers in my yard. Noticed that one of my 69 Sweptlines had a good cable. Pulled it out and lo and behold, it already had the proper ends I was looking for. Measured the new cable against the old one. Darn! It was 1/2 inch longer! LOL Just thought I'd pass along my discovery for anyone in the same situation. Mike
