LIMECRAZY!!! Yer killin' me--love it. A friend's wife brought me and the gang RootBeer floats and a RootBeer cake to eat at Carlisle. What a goof.

No progress pics of DasFish yet--gonna get back to it soon. Here's a pic of Sunday's progress--we had Orange Sherbert ice cream to celebrate The Dart.

Saw your dart at Carlisle very nice!!!!

HELP!

Grilles are in a million pieces. Chrome shop disassembled them further for replating, and I'll be damned if I know how they go together. Can you guys out there help me with some pics of these things up close and at every angle?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there your service manual should show how to put it back together,if you have one.Or you could probably get one online. Good Luck!8)

Can you post a pic of what they did and how far they took them apart?

Did they chrome them? They should be aluminum. I took off the anodization and polished mine.

F-bomb I want them low buckets for my car, nice shape, you selling any thing from the resto.

Ok, I think you have had plenty of time to get something done. Are you OK hope that it is not health problems. Comon keep.us up to date or at least say something. I feel in the dark now.

Any pics would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yup, did Columbus over the weekend--1200 trouble free miles out of the Dart. Ate lots of pizza...... Did burnouts in front of the cops on the strip at night--way cool.

Hopefully I'll be back on the Barracuda next week--long story.

You suck.....I waved hello at a KCMO cop Sunday as I drove by him....in my Burr SRT4.....doing the speed limit and driving with respect and that SOB whipped out behind me and pulled me over.

I was a bit PO'd since I had been so congenial and respectful so I ask him...."why did you pull me over?"

He goes ballistic on me and rants and raves about how evil I am then proceeds to write me 3 tickets no less.

1. Tinted windows (even though I have aprescription from my doctor allowing me to have them by law)
2. Cover on my rear license plate.. (Keeps the street urchins from stealing my tags)
3. Front plate improperly displayed. I(tried to tell him my SRT4 had no provisions for front plate due to inter cooler and design in general and that's why its proudly displayed in my windshield.)

FME.

KCMO is broke.....then they found out there's 14 million$$$$ more missing.

I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

Lucky you.....Lucky you my friend.

I wish and hope than nobody else gets into it this summer with broke *** communities and crooked cops who are scared to go after real bad guys.

Yea I know I'm jaded....but that's an easy bust that gets $$$$$.

PS

Where you been......I already have damage on my car from driveway incident and fatty is down......hows your life stranger?

PM if you wanna talk......I'm good with folks I barely know.:read2:

Here are some pics of my 68 grills, re-assembled after chroming. Unfortunately nothing showing the rear but you may be able to gleen from these sufficient clues to get yourself out of trouble. When I re-assembled mine, the only real problem I had involved the correct orientation of the three metal supports (ie. the black struts you see in the pics) that the die cast insert bolts to. It's easy to juxtapose them, the result being that the bolts in the insert will not line up with the holes in the supports. Other than that, the grill fits together fairly self-evidently. Anyway, hope these help in some little way.

OK.

Here is some from behind...they are in the car so you have to look.

I tried to get as many angles as possible. Sorry they are dark but it was getting late and the shots are indoors.

Good luck.

Thanks, guys. Those will be of some help.

While out in Columbus, I looked closely at the grilles of 4 Barracuda's--all done differently--previous repairs and overall butchery were the order....

Thanks again.

Didja see the guy from New York in the swap with the 67-68-69 grilles?

I got a price on an NOS left grille surround from him..$600! OUCH! He had some "refinished" '69 surrounds for $300 a side, new chrome but they were pitted and showed outward signs of repair.

I'm almost to the point of having a CNC program written to whittle them outta stainless or something... with imperfect NOS at $1200 a pair, it might be a better way to go.... of course there would still be the plastic grille itself to consider, very, very rare to see one that hasn't been broken.

Good luck on your '68 grille!

Dart looked good cruising Heath, BTW!

You can pay someone like king of trim about 1300 to completely restore them that includes strip/ readnonizing bezels, opaint brackets, straiten dents and re-chroming the signal housing bezels but no new lenses.

They look marvelous.

Why buy shiz off ebay to replace your own shiz.

Pay once pay dearly and enjoy how much better they make your car look.

Screw saving for Baseracks future. Spend it while ya got it.

Marcos at King of Trim is a really good guy. They just want and arm and a leg. Their work is top notch.
