Classic ball game- Yanks beat Sox in 15

That's not really true, only a few teams have the money to buy, or if they're homegrown, keep the best players. It really isn't a level playing field in that sense. Look at Toronto they just did a salary dump and they won't be able to afford to resign Doc either. The Yankees in particular buy their way into the playoffs every year which is great if you're a Yankees fan but one of the reasons many aren't. I do agree they're playing with some heart this year, something is different.

I really tend to disagree with your 'buy in' statement. As I said before every team has the same opportunity. True, the Yanks have a lot of money but it's because they win and as said above, they put butts in seats wherever they play. And really, what team owner is poor?

Look at it this way - if you chose to run a business, do you keep your investments in it at a bare minimum or do you try and do whatever it takes to be successful? Like I said before, it hasn't always worked in their favor. I've been angry with they way they do things for a long time, including this year but I really can't argue with their current success.

One thing though, you can't buy heart. Look at the Mets, they have a huge payroll and they suck.
