So basically I've seen some pics of the aluminum dashes done by rocky but since they're out of business now does anyone know where I can get one fab'd up for a decent price???

thanks for the link after reading that im wondering how easy it would be to make my own....

like what metal you guys think I should use? or the best way to get a good bend in the metal? any advice you have would be much appreciated :toothy10:.

The aluminum was nice, but hard for the average guy to weld. If I were to make one, I'd just use heavy gauge sheet metal. Make it as nice as possible with the welder and grinder, then finish it with some short strand glass-reinforced bondo, followed by regular creamy bondo, paint it and all is well.

Watch the depth of the speedo and tach. You have very little room to the steering column support. If you set the gauges too far back, they won't fit.

thanks fourspeed i think i might try the aluminum panel first and if that doesnt work then it just sets me back some time and a lil money but if that doesnt work i will probably go with some diamond plate and see what finishes i can put on it

I did this right hand drive dash using 3 mm aluminium, never welded aluminium before and to my surprise found it hard to weld through this thickness - and I am a hack welder, no doubt (I wont show you the back of the panel!). So dont be afraid to give it a try.

I did the bends in a vice, crude, but still came out fine.

Had a RMD made up RHD but it looked too "backyard" for my taste, wanted something with more of a finished, factory look.
