Auto w/ 4 speed jump?

I bought this '68 Valiant project car that had a 4 speed hump welded in. I'm going BB/auto. I'm wondering if anyone has mounted a floor type auto shifter onto a 4 speed hump? Will it look odd? Anybody got pics? Yeah I could just cut the hump out and weld in some metal but...
