BJR good to see you on here again. Yes I use the same method. The push rod pinch can be safely removed up to the original port dimension, if not gasket matched. I also use a Helguson 'E' tool to directly measure the wall thickness at the pinch. I use both to be safe. I try to leave .060 on street work and .030 on race work.
