I`ve gone through 4 sets of wires on my Barracuda with the same problem. The boots cook by the headers and the insulation cracks, then they start shooting fire to the closest ground. I`ve found a wire by Accel that has a ceramic boot capable of handling temps up to 2000*. Has anybody used these plug wires? They`re pricey but would be worth it to me if they actually work.

Oh well, I`ve ordered a set of these Accel ceramic boot wires. They`re out of stock so it`ll be a while before I get my hands on a set but I`m anxious to try them out.

:read2: Hey Longgone, keep us posted on how they do when you get 'em. I have been keeping an eye on this thread in hopes someone could give you some insight on these plug wires, looks like you're gonna test the waters for us 8) when I get my project actualy on the road I have a feeling I am going to have the same problem you are.

I have them in my Dart. I think TTI actually recommended them for the TTI A-body/low deck/B1-BS 2 1/8 step header that I use in the Dart. They have been in there a couple years, no issues.

They sound like a great idea. Are their outer surfaces ribbed to provide a grip and a heatsinking caracteristic ? I imagine they would blister the pizz out of a guys fingers though.
Only once. LOL

I`ll let you guys know how they work and according to BBLM23 they sound promising.

That sounds good, I`m cooking a set about once a year and to look under the hood at night now it`s like the 4th of July, with sparks flying everywhere.

Fom the pictures I`ve seen of them, they don`t look much different from any other wire other than the boot is a white porcelain boot instead of a regular rubber boot.

I did finally get the wires, they were on back order just about everywhere. I found them on Amazon.com ,saved about 38 dollars, and got free shipping. I put them on today and scrapped my old wire looms. I think they`re going to work out nicely. Like BBLM23 said they`re a ceramic covering about 3/32 thick over a rubber boot. One thing I didn`t like was the distributor side boots were 90* and I couldn`t deal with that. I ended up using the boots and connectors from my existing set. I can say this for sure, the car runs a hell of a lot better with all 8 cylinders firing. Lol!
