clutch trouble

I have a Ram Power Grip setup in an Abody. 1000 miles or so on it, not abused to much. Two things real weird. In 1st gear as you take off ( does not have to be full throttle ) when the rpms reach about 4000 the clutch pedal pops up firmly against your foot. Also when I try to adjust the pedal to get less extention on the fingers ( borg and beck ) the pedal will not return all the way to the stop. I have already broken one of the clutch arm pins (Ram fixed it) but can't adjust it the way they want and get the pedal to come up to the stop. Could the big spring under the dash be weak? ( Hope not it looks like a nightmare to change. ) Any input would really be appreciated. Thanks kevin P.S. all linkage is orig. style and appears to be in good shape.
