AND THATS GOING WITH A THIN .026 HEAD GASKET
STOCK IS A .040 HEAD GASKET

i cut my heads .015
went from a .040 head gasket to a .026 head gasket
I calculated my comp. to go from 9.1 to 9.4
that is a .3 increase in comp.

8.1 - 8.4 or 9.1 - 9.4
almost a half point - .3 increase
stock .040 gasket - .040

OK, be honest now, tell me your finding on YOUR '78 - '79 smog motor when you mic it up and do the math right here on line. We'll see how's math is right or wrong.

MORE LIKELY is given the fact of factory tolorences can be off, bore sizes not exact, bearing sizes larger, it's all the norm.
