I have a 5.7L Hemi motor and I'm trying to locate a transmission that will work with that I have.

I have a 2005 Ram 1500 RWD computer and will be buying a wiring harness from a vendor.

From what I've read most vendors sell the harness for the 545rfe trans. I think this might be the best bet for me. Although the 45rfe isn't much different.

So will the 45rfe bolt up to the 5.7L? Will it be able to hold the power? Will the 4.7L transmission work on the Hemi? I've read it's the same transmission with different computer programming.

Anyone have more knowledge than I've been able to find?

Cant help with the 45rfe, but Quicktime makes bellhousing's for 4l60e, 700r4, t56 etc.....lots of aftermarket support for GM based elect OD transmissions. Or any small block mopar trans should bolt up. Just throwing out a few more options to stir the pot!!

I have a 45rfe out of a Dodge pickup. It comes with a 5.7 in the truck so it fits the Hemi no problem. I have been told that it is the easiest to program the computer to. It was not that hard to install in the car although it does reqire modifying the floor some. We did make our own cross member.
